Disney reveals new Indiana Jones and Encanto rides for Animal Kingdom

At the D23 event, Disney revealed details for the Tropical Americas land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which will replace DinoLand U.S.A. The new area is scheduled to open in 2027 and will feature three primary attractions.

One cornerstone is “Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent.” Set in the 1950s, the ride follows Indiana Jones into a Maya temple and the underworld. Notably, Harrison Ford confirmed he is the model for the attraction’s Audio-Animatronics figure, marking the first time his actual likeness will be used in a Disney theme park attraction.

The second major attraction is “Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto,” based on the film Encanto. The ride takes guests into the Madrigal family’s Casita during Antonio’s gift ceremony. It features ride vehicles designed to look like magical furniture and includes more than 50 animals. The original voice cast, including Stephanie Beatriz, Jessica Darrow, and Diane Guerrero, will reprise their roles. The attraction will have no height requirement.

A third attraction will be a carousel featuring 22 hand-carved figures of animals from various Disney and Pixar stories.
