Formula E signs global streaming deal with Disney+

Formula E has entered a multi-year global streaming agreement with Disney+, which will commence at the start of the 2026/27 season. The deal aims to expand the series' reach to millions of new households across 144 territories.

Under the agreement, Disney+ will serve as the global streaming home, providing coverage of every practice session, qualifying session, and race. The platform will also offer dedicated shoulder programming, race highlights, and behind-the-scenes content. In the United States, coverage will be available on both Disney+ and ESPN+.

The partnership coincides with the debut of the GEN4 era, featuring significantly faster and more advanced electric racing cars. While Disney+ will provide a new digital alternative, the series intends to maintain its existing ecosystem of free-to-air and linear broadcast partners in various markets. In Italy, for example, broadcasts are expected to continue on Mediaset networks to ensure free access.

Formula E CEO Jeff Dodds described the deal as a “milestone” that leverages Disney’s storytelling power to accelerate global growth. The 2026/27 season is scheduled to include 21 races across 13 cities, beginning in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and concluding in Tokyo, Japan.
