Disney Skyliner announces refurbishment closures for 2027 and 2028

Walt Disney World has announced upcoming refurbishment schedules for the Disney Skyliner gondola system, providing unusually early notice for future closures.

The system is scheduled to close for seven days from January 24 to January 30, 2027. A second, longer closure is planned for 2028, running from January 24 to February 2. During these periods, guests staying at the Art of Animation Resort, Pop Century Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, and Riviera Resort will lose direct gondola access to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Disney will provide complimentary bus transportation to the affected parks during these maintenance windows. While boat transportation remains an option for park hopping, the early announcement allows travelers to plan around the service interruptions, which may impact the value of premium-priced resorts that rely heavily on the Skyliner for transportation.
