Disney Springs retailers stop accepting Disney Gift Cards

Several third-party retailers at Disney Springs in Walt Disney World have stopped accepting Disney Gift Cards, Disney Rewards redemption cards, and Disney resort room charges. Recent retailers to cease accepting these payment methods include Zara, Vera Bradley, Sephora, and the LEGO Store. Additionally, the retailer Vuori, which opened on October 16, launched without accepting these Disney-specific payment options.

According to Disney Guest Relations, these changes are linked to updates in third-party contracts. Officials indicated that most new stores opening in the district will likely not accept these payment methods. This trend appears to be a result of the leasing structure at Disney Springs, where Disney acts as a landlord to national brands. Unlike the Disney-operated theme parks, these third-party tenants must manage their own custom payment integrations and settlement processes.

While all Disney-owned and operated locations, including the Disney Store, World of Disney, and all Disney Springs dining establishments, continue to accept these forms of payment, guests are advised to verify acceptance at individual retail registers due to the evolving nature of these merchant agreements.
