Disney+ to live stream WE League matches in Japan

Walt Disney Japan has announced that Disney+ will begin live streaming select matches from the WE League, Japan's professional women's football league. This marks the first time the streaming service will regularly broadcast domestic sports in Japan.

In collaboration with DAZN, Disney+ will broadcast one featured match per round via its ESPN channel. The initiative aims to increase exposure to women's football and provide new audiences with opportunities to engage with the sport. The streaming schedule for October includes matches such as RB Omiya Ardija WOMEN vs. Chifure AS Elfen Saitama on October 18, and Nojima Stella Kanagawa Sagamihara vs. Albirex Niigata Ladies on October 21.

Following the live broadcasts, replays will be available on the platform for 90 days. The schedule for November and beyond will be announced through official WE League channels.
