Disney+ to stream NBA games in Romania via ESPN

Disney+ subscribers in Romania will gain access to live NBA games through a collaboration with ESPN, starting October 22. The initial broadcast will feature a matchup between the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers.

The long-term agreement covers various stages of the league, including regular season games, a selection of playoff matches, Conference Finals, and specific NBA Finals seasons. Starting from the 2026/27 season, the platform will broadcast up to 24 playoff games annually, including all games from one of the Conference Finals series. For select seasons between 2026/27 and 2034/35, subscribers will also have access to all NBA Finals games.

In addition to basketball, the service will include other sporting events such as the NBA Draft, the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, and select NBA Summer League games. This expansion positions Disney+ to compete more directly with both general entertainment platforms and dedicated sports streaming services.
