Disney updates Cosmic Rewind pre-show at EPCOT

Walt Disney World has updated the pre-show for the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction at EPCOT. The change specifically targets a moment involving actor Terry Crews, who appears on screen as Centurion Tal Marik.

In the original version, the character would ask, “Does anyone know what they call themselves?” followed by a brief pause. This pause frequently led to rowdy parkgoers shouting inappropriate or humorous responses, such as “alcoholics” or “day drinkers,” which became a viral social media trend.

To address this, Walt Disney Imagineering has replaced the pause with a scripted glitch. In the new version, the character quickly follows up with, “Someone needs to tell me when I’m on,” effectively preventing guests from interrupting the sequence.
