Walt Disney World announces park updates and new attractions

Walt Disney World is implementing several updates and expansions across its Florida resorts, including new attractions, dining changes, and maintenance projects.

At Magic Kingdom, construction permits have been filed for the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, covering both the facade and the show building. The work, to be handled by Buena Vista Construction Company, likely involves maintenance or refurbishment. Additionally, the Carousel of Progress is slated for a refresh, with new concept art recently displayed at Walt Disney Presents.

Disney's Hollywood Studios is seeing the introduction of the Monstropolis land, featuring the Monsters, Inc. Door Vault roller coaster and the Welcome to Monstropolis show. Toy Story Land has also been updated with interactive elements featuring Lilypad, a character from the upcoming Toy Story 5, which includes new games and a soundtrack titled ‘Lilypad’s Jams’ at the Alien Swirling Saucers attraction.

Dining and entertainment updates include the opening of the Hurly-Burly lounge at Disney's BoardWalk and the reopening of the Coral Reef Restaurant at EPCOT. In Frontierland, the Diamond Horseshoe will operate as a limited-time dining location.
