Disney World completes 18-month refurbishment of Yacht Club Resort

Walt Disney World has completed an extensive exterior refurbishment project at the Yacht Club Resort, ending nearly 20 months of construction. The project involved the removal of scaffolding, privacy scrims, and heavy equipment that had been visible to guests along Crescent Lake.

The restoration addressed wear caused by the Central Florida climate, including intense ultraviolet exposure and heavy rainfall. Work included repairing and replacing portions of the resort’s exterior siding, roof shingles, and trim to maintain the nautical New England aesthetic designed by architect Robert A. M. Stern. The resort has now fully restored its signature gray siding and white trim ahead of the upcoming holiday travel season.
