Disney World Cuts July Holiday Shows Amid Extreme Heat

Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando reduced daytime entertainment on the Fourth of July weekend because forecast heat indices were expected to reach 100‑105°F. The park shortened the Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire on the Cinderella Castle stage from roughly 20 minutes to about 8.5 minutes and also trimmed the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade. Both adjustments were made to limit cast exposure to direct sun and reduce guest time in crowded, hot areas.

Other scheduled activities, including a U.S. Air Force Reserve flyover, the Evening Fireworks Spectacular and the Celebrate America! concert, remained on the agenda. Disney noted that similar heat‑driven changes had been implemented previously at Disneyland Paris, where costumed characters and outdoor parades were scaled back.

Despite the abbreviated daytime lineup, most attractions, restaurants and nighttime shows continued operating as normal throughout the holiday weekend.
