Walt Disney World announces venue changes and theme park updates
Walt Disney World Resort is implementing several operational and thematic changes across its properties. At the BoardWalk Resort, the Atlantic Dance Hall will cease regular public operations on October 1, 2026, transitioning into a private event venue. On the same date, Disney will open Hurly-Burly, a new dual-concept lounge and cabaret venue located at the former site of the Jellyrolls dueling piano bar.
At Magic Kingdom Park, the Walt Disney World Railroad station on Main Street, U.S.A., has undergone recent updates. As part of a broader effort to modernize collectible coin machines with digital screens, the railroad-themed medallions—which previously featured specific steam train numbers and insignia—have been replaced with generic gold and silver designs featuring standard character illustrations and Cinderella Castle imagery. This follows the removal of a vintage “Metropolis” penny arcade machine from the same station.
