Disney Cuts Lightning Lane Prices While Reaffirming Abu Dhabi Park Plans
The Walt Disney Company announced a reduction in its Lightning Lane Premier Pass prices. For Magic Kingdom, the pass will cost $299 per guest on August 23 and 25, the lowest ever for that park. Animal Kingdom’s pass is now $119 per person, matching its previous low point.
During its third‑quarter earnings call, Disney also reiterated its commitment to the planned Disneyland Abu Dhabi resort on Yas Island. The project, a partnership with Abu Dhabi developer Miral, will see Miral finance, build and operate the resort while Disney provides characters, stories and design oversight. Disney CFO Hugh Johnston said the company remains confident in the long‑term strategy despite regional conflict and fuel‑price volatility.
These announcements come as Disney reports higher attendance and per‑capita spending at its U.S. parks, while guests continue to note rising overall vacation costs.
