Disney World ride 'It’s a Small World' shut after fire in Florida

A small fire broke out on the iconic “It’s a Small World” attraction at Disney World in Florida on July 1, filling the indoor ride with dense smoke and prompting an immediate evacuation. park staff used fire extinguishers to control the blaze while the boats continued moving, and the attraction was temporarily closed for safety checks.

Social‑media videos suggest the fire was caused by a visitor’s portable power bank that ignited inside a bag, not by the ride itself. Disney has not officially confirmed the cause, but employees reported that the ride suffered no damage.

The incident caused brief disruption for guests but no injuries were reported, and the ride is expected to reopen once inspections are completed.
