Disney World unveils July changes and heat advisory for guests
Walt Disney World announced a series of updates for early July. The Magic Kingdom will switch its nightly fireworks to the patriotic "Celebrate America" show from July 3‑5, and EPCOT will add a Freedom‑themed finale to its Luminous show. The long‑standing Carousel of Progress attraction will close on July 6 for a refurbishment slated to run until 2027. Guests staying at Disney Deluxe Resorts will continue to enjoy extended evening hours throughout the month, and a new interactive venue called LEVEL99 opened at Disney Springs. Ongoing construction continues across the resort, including work on Frontierland and Animal Kingdom projects.
At the same time, the National Weather Service issued a Heat Advisory for Orange County and surrounding areas from noon to 7 p.m. EDT, with heat‑index values projected between 106 °F and 109 °F. The advisory urges visitors to stay hydrated, seek shade or air‑conditioned spaces, wear light clothing, and avoid prolonged exposure, especially in outdoor queue lines and open plazas throughout the parks.
