The feature‑length documentary "Disney Worldbuilders," directed by Oscar‑ and Emmy‑nominated filmmaker Leslie Iwerks, offers a behind‑the‑scenes look at how Disney turns its film franchises into theme‑park experiences. It features candid conversations with Disney executives and creators such as Bob Iger, James Cameron, Jon Favreau, Kevin Feige, Jennifer Lee, Pete Docter, Dave Filoni, Jared Bush and Josh D’Amaro, who discuss the evolution of franchises like Avatar, Star Wars, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Pixar, Frozen and Zootopia into attractions.

The film spotlights the upcoming Disney Abu Dhabi resort on Yas Island, with Miral chairman H. E. Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak and Disney CEO Bob Iger speaking about the project’s vision. The documentary premiered at Disney’s D23 fan event on 16 September and began streaming exclusively on Disney+ on 20 August, providing the first public glimpse of the new themed lands planned for the Middle‑East park.
