Disney World's Haunted Mansion Gets Queue Overhaul and Fresh Merchandise Launch

Construction at Magic Kingdom's Haunted Mansion has led to a reshuffle of several headstones in the attraction’s queue. The gravestone honoring “Martin,” known for the punning epitaph “The lights went out on this old spark,” has disappeared, while the stones for Uncle Theodore and Cousin Algernon have been moved to new positions. The changes are part of an exterior refurbishment linked to the upcoming Frontierland expansion for Piston Peak National Park, which will bring previously hidden backstage areas into view for guests.

At Disney Springs, the Haunted Mansion theme has also inspired a new wave of merchandise. Stores now offer a rubber‑duck set representing characters such as Constance, Madame Leota and the Hatbox Ghost ($19.99), a Hitchhiking Ghosts Squishmallow trio ($49.99), a car magnet featuring the three ghosts ($11.99), and a black hooded sweatshirt embroidered with an “HM” monogram.
