Disneyland entrance closed following suspicious bag discovery

Authorities responded to suspicious bags found near the Harbor-East Shuttle Area at Disneyland on October 12. One bag contained wires, while another was wrapped in duct tape with pointed objects protruding from it. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department bomb squad was called to examine the items, which included marbles and Disney-style crowns.

As a precaution, Anaheim police closed the Esplanade and the Harbor-East Shuttle Area. During the incident, guests were redirected away from the east entrance and toward Downtown Disney, with some being escorted through backstage areas typically reserved for employees.

Following the incident, reports indicated that security checkpoints at Downtown Disney and the Disneyland Hotel remained affected, with some entrances blocked and guests redirected to alternative security points, such as the one near the Pixar Place Hotel.
