Disneyland Paris scales back attractions and dining amid extreme heatwave

Disneyland Paris in Chessy, Seine‑et‑Marne, has implemented extensive operational changes as France endures a record‑breaking heatwave. After a red‑level heat alert on 21 June, the park began adjusting its offer on 22 June, stopping most outdoor rides—including Big Thunder Mountain, Casey Jr., Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Autopia, Indiana Jones, and the Temple of Peril—and prioritising covered areas.

Nighttime spectacles have been reduced: the “Disney Tales of Magic” show runs without fireworks, drones or fountains, and “Disney Cascade of Lights” operates with limited effects. The iconic “A Million Splashes of Colour” parade now follows a continuous route with minimal choreography to lower performer exertion. Food service is also affected; outdoor kiosks lacking air‑conditioning have been closed, pushing guests toward indoor restaurants and increasing wait times.

Additional measures include extra water points, shaded rest zones and staff directing visitor flow. From 24 July the park will introduce a new “Cavalcade des Princesses Disney” performance on Adventure Bay, but all current adjustments remain in place while temperatures stay above 35 °C.
