Disneyland Paris to debut new ‘The Lion King’ water attraction
Disneyland Paris has announced it will host the first Disney theme park attraction dedicated to the 1994 film ‘The Lion King’. The new experience will be a boat ride that reinterprets Simba’s journey from cub to king, including a confrontation with Scar.
According to Walt Disney Imagineering, the attraction will feature robotic animation figures and music from the film. The ride will include three significant drops, the largest of which is approximately 16 meters. Tasia Filippatos, President of Disney Parks International, described the project as a long-term investment aimed at capturing fan passion.
The announcement was made during the D23 Experiences Showcase in Anaheim, California. This project is part of a broader expansion strategy that includes remodeling Tomorrowland at the original Disneyland Park and developing new areas themed around ‘Coco’, ‘Avengers’, and ‘Avatar’.
