Disneyland postpones Magic Key pass sales as holiday ticket dates remain pending
As of August 22 2024, Disney has not announced a date to resume sales of its Magic Key annual passes. Only a limited number of existing holders can renew; new sales are paused indefinitely. The company cites overcrowding, staffing shortages and the need to manage park attendance through its reservation system as primary reasons.
Disney typically begins releasing information for the Christmas season—running from early November through December 31—in late summer to early fall (August‑September). However, no specific release dates for holiday tickets or the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party have been confirmed. Guests must secure both a ticket and a park reservation before visiting any of the four Disneyland parks.
The lack of a clear timeline has left regular visitors and prospective pass holders uncertain about when they can plan trips for the upcoming holiday period.
