Disneyland Resort hosts community celebration in Anaheim
Disneyland Resort hosted the ‘Happiest Day in Anaheim’ on August 27 to celebrate its 70-year relationship with the local community. The event featured various activities designed to bring the theme park experience to Anaheim residents.
Throughout August, Disney VoluntEARS conducted surprise visits to community centers, providing approximately 2,000 residents with Disney-themed items such as Mickey Mouse plush toys and wands. Specific celebrations included a Disney-themed morning for 125 seniors at the Ponderosa Family Resource Center and a Disney-inspired field day for 400 students at Danbrook Elementary School. The school's 75 staff members were each provided with complimentary Disneyland Resort tickets for themselves and a guest.
The festivities concluded with the ‘Main Street on Your Street’ event at Center Greens Park, which drew more than 3,000 residents. The gathering included entertainment, crafts, and meet-and-greets with characters such as Mickey Mouse, Miguel, and Mirabel. Disneyland Resort noted that its community support includes annual volunteer efforts and donations totaling tens of millions of dollars in cash and in-kind contributions to Orange County.
