Disneyland Resort undergoes construction at California Adventure and security entrance
Disneyland Resort is currently managing multiple construction and maintenance projects across its Southern California properties. At Disney California Adventure Park, work is underway on the exterior of The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure. While the attraction remains operational, the building has been partially obscured by scaffolding and scrim for two months. Recent updates show that some of the themed scrim has been rolled up, revealing a refreshed facade that appears to be the result of repainting and general maintenance.
Simultaneously, construction is progressing on a new security screening checkpoint located in the Esplanade between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. This project follows the demolition of four ticket booths in August and is part of a larger development plan. The expansion includes a pedestrian bridge connecting to a new parking structure featuring 6,000 spaces, 300 electric-vehicle charging stations, a security office, and dedicated areas for shuttles and rideshares. Recent sightings indicate that the wooden framing for the shade structure above the new screening area is nearing completion.
