Disneyland restores Primeval World dinosaur diorama
The Primeval World diorama on the Disneyland Railroad at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, has reopened following a refurbishment lasting more than two months. The project restored the scene’s Audio-Animatronics dinosaurs and prehistoric scenery, which had previously been obscured by temporary barriers and flat cutouts.
According to public permits filed in Anaheim, the refurbishment included new rockwork, fall protection, and the replacement of show lighting throughout the space. Guests can once again view the moving dinosaur figures, including the signature confrontation between a Tyrannosaurus rex and a Stegosaurus, now accompanied by refreshed lighting effects.
While the Disneyland Railroad continued to operate during the work, the diorama itself was hidden from view. This restoration preserves one of the park’s long-standing prehistoric storytelling experiences, though it is distinct from the DINOSAUR attraction located at Walt Disney World.
