Disney's Haunted Mansion leads Halloween viewership data

Nielsen data reveals that Disney's 2023 film, Haunted Mansion, has become the most-watched Halloween-themed title over the last five years in the United States. The film accumulated approximately 3.5 billion minutes of viewership via television and streaming services.

Despite its streaming success, the production faced challenges during its theatrical release. Released in July 2023, it competed directly with Barbie and Oppenheimer, leading to a global box office return of roughly $117 million against a reported $150 million budget. While critics gave the film a 38 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, audience sentiment was higher at 84 percent.

The 2022 film Halloween follows in second place, with approximately 1.321 billion minutes of viewership recorded.
