Disney's Hollywood Studios to close Vacation Fun Theater in August

The Vacation Fun Theater, also known as the Mickey Shorts Theater, at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida will temporarily close beginning August 9, 2026. Disney has not announced a specific reopening date, but the venue is slated to reopen later in the year. The closure coincides with the theater’s conversion into a pickup point for a new Kermit the Frog‑themed Annual Passholder magnet, which will be distributed to guests from August 11 through September 24, 2026 as part of a broader Muppets‑themed passholder offering.

The theater, which screens original animated shorts starring Mickey and Minnie Mouse, has been closed several times in the past for short refurbishments. Disney has not provided a detailed reason for this latest shutdown, but the timing suggests the space is being prepared for the upcoming passholder merchandise event.
