The Disney live‑action adaptation of "Moana" will begin theatrical showings in Mexico and Ecuador this week. In Mexico, Cinépolis will start pre‑sale on 2 July with screenings on 8 July in 2D, 3D, 4DX, IMAX and SCREENX formats. In Ecuador, the film opens on 9 July, with a pre‑premiere on 8 July. The movie stars 16‑year‑old Samoan actress Catherine Laga‘aia as Moana and features Dwayne Johnson reprising his voice role as the demigod Maui, who also serves as a producer.
