Disney's live‑action 'Moana' premieres in Brazil with special cup and Pacific Island dance cast
The live‑action adaptation of Disney's "Moana" opened in Goiânia, Brazil, with multiple screenings across city cinemas. Cinépolis began selling a limited‑edition 550 ml collectible cup featuring blue tones and film graphics in its concessions on the pre‑premiere day, July 8, with sales continuing while stock lasts.
Choreographer Tiana Nonosina Liufau, who designed the original animated movements, served as cultural consultant and associate producer on the film. She recruited more than 200 dancers from across Polynesia—representing Tonga, Tahiti, New Zealand, Hawaii and other islands—to perform the village scenes, highlighting Pacific Island heritage. The film's official Brazilian release follows the July 8 pre‑premiere, with a worldwide theatrical rollout on July 9‑10.
