Disney's live-action Moana set for digital and disc release

Disney’s live-action adaptation of the 2016 animated musical Moana is scheduled for premium digital rental and sale on September 8, followed by a physical release on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD on October 6.

The film, which has earned $315.4 million at the global box office, stars Catherine Lagaʻaia as Moana and Dwayne Johnson as the demigod Maui. The production was co-produced by Johnson and Disney, with Thomas Kail making his feature directorial debut. The story follows Moana as she voyages beyond her island of Motunui to restore prosperity to her people.

Physical and digital releases will include special features such as a sing-along version, behind-the-scenes looks at costume design and choreography, and interviews with the cast. A three-movie collection featuring the original Moana, Moana 2, and the live-action version will also be available in digital and DVD bundles.
