Disney’s live-action adaptation of Moana is scheduled to begin streaming exclusively on Disney+ on October 21, 2026. This follows the film’s theatrical release on July 10.

Directed by Thomas Kail, the film stars Catherine Lagaʻaia as Moana and features the return of Dwayne Johnson as the demigod Maui. The cast also includes John Tui, Frankie Adams, Rena Owen, and Jemaine Clement. Auliʻi Cravalho, who voiced the character in the original animated film, serves as an executive producer.

The production features a mix of classic musical numbers and new content, including the song ‘Along The Way’ written by Lin-Manuel Miranda. The soundtrack maintains contributions from original composers Opetaia Foaʻi and Mark Mancina.
