Disney Begins Filming Live‑Action Tangled in Spain with New Cast Revealed

Disney is shooting its live‑action remake of the 2010 animated film *Tangled* in Girona and surrounding locations in northern Spain. The production, directed by Michael Gracey, features Teagan Croft as Rapunzel and Milo Manheim as Flynn Rider. Supporting cast members include Kathryn Hahn as Mother Gothel, Caitriona Balfe as the Queen of Corona, and Diego Luna in a newly created role.

Recent set photos released by the studio show the reconstructed kingdom of Corona, the tower where Rapunzel is held, and a scene of children braiding her iconic long hair. The castle and village sets were built near Bilbao, while exterior shots were captured at the Girona Cathedral. Disney plans a holiday‑season release for the film, likely in 2027.
