Disney's live‑action Moana promoted in Japan with TV airing and theater sticker giveaways

On July 24, Japan’s Friday Roadshow will broadcast the 2016 animated film Moana from 9:00 a.m. to 10:59 a.m. as a preview for Disney’s upcoming live‑action adaptation, which is scheduled to open in Japanese cinemas on July 31, 2026. The telecast features the Japanese voice cast, including Yukina Yabiku as Moana and Oonoue Matsui as Maui.

Ahead of the theatrical release, participating Japanese theaters will give the first audience members a limited‑edition “puku‑puku” sticker set, bundled with a Toy Story 5 sticker. Additional promotions run from July 31 to August 31, offering lottery entries for Disney on Ice tickets, special café vouchers, and other Disney‑themed prizes. The campaigns also reward moviegoers who purchase tickets for both Moana and Toy Story 5, with a chance to win exclusive merchandise and event tickets. Live‑action Moana stars newcomer Catherine Langai as the title character, while Dwayne Johnson reprises his role as Maui from the original animation.
