Disney’s Oceania tops Italian box office

The Disney live-action film ‘Oceania’ has claimed the top spot at the Italian box office. During the weekend of August 20 to 23, 2026, the film earned 3,814,248 euros over four days, reaching a total of 5,091,982 euros within its first five days of release.

This performance marks the sixth-best debut of the year in Italy. While its opening figures are comparable to the 2025 ‘Snow White’ debut, they remain below the opening numbers of ‘The Little Mermaid’ (2023) and significantly lower than ‘Lilo & Stitch’ (2025).

Despite the new arrival, Christopher Nolan’s ‘Odissea’ continues to show strong momentum in its sixth week. The film added 2,062,443 euros to its total, bringing its cumulative Italian earnings to 52,124,027 euros. This achievement places ‘Odissea’ fourth on the list of the highest-grossing films of all time in Italy, surpassing titles such as ‘Titanic’ and ‘Sole a catinelle’.
