District heating upgrades underway in Novi Pazar, Serbia and Tuzla, Bosnia

In Novi Pazar, Serbia, a new 1.5‑km district‑heating pipeline is being built to link the existing “Bor” boiler with a biomass plant and improve air quality. The project costs 138 million dinars, with 89 million funded by the Ministry of Environment and the remainder by the city. Mayor Nihat Biševac said the upgrade will provide continuous heating and reduce pollution, while Energopolis director Jovan Anđić confirmed work is on schedule.

In Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the utility Centralno grijanje d.d. is reconstructing its hot‑water network at three sites. More than 60 % of the planned work is complete, including sections K1‑K1.A2 in Slatina and K21‑K22 in Slavinovići, with further revitalisation planned for the Bulevar corridor. The upgrades aim to boost reliability, stabilize heat supply and enable new user connections.
