Distrito Federal authorities uncover R$ 453 million in fiscal irregularities

The State Secretariat of Economy of the Federal District (Seec-DF) has identified approximately R$ 453 million in irregular fiscal operations conducted between August 8 and August 20. This investigation led to the issuance of R$ 217.8 million in tax credits, including taxes and fines.

A primary target of the inspection was a company located in the Águas Claras ADE, identified as a “noteira” (a company that issues fraudulent invoices). The establishment reportedly issued roughly one thousand fiscal documents intended for the states of Ceará, Goiás, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo. Authorities determined these invoices did not reflect real commercial transactions but were instead used to create tax credits and simulate the movement of goods to mask other fiscal irregularities. The operations linked to this company involved goods valued at approximately R$ 390 million. Seized items included 2,340 automotive batteries, 35 tons of marble, 78 tons of sugar, 57 tons of corn, cosmetics, soybean oil, wheat, and construction materials.

Additionally, a separate operation at Brasília Airport between August 10 and August 17 analyzed imports valued at R$ 47.8 million, resulting in the collection of R$ 8.6 million in ICMS Import tax.
