Distrito Federal buses withdrawn following judicial order

A judicial order has resulted in the removal of 90 Volvo buses from the Auto Viação Marechal fleet in the Distrito Federal. The vehicles, which serve the Bacia 44 region—including Guará, Ceilândia, P Sul, and Taguatinga—were collected by court officials on Wednesday morning.

The withdrawal is reportedly linked to financial disputes involving the manufacturer, Volvo. Auto Viação Marechal stated it was surprised by the measure and is currently negotiating with Volvo to resolve the pending issues. The company claims to be taking necessary steps to ensure the continuity of public transport services.

The Legislative Chamber of the Distrito Federal (CLDF) has granted the Secretariat of Transport and Mobility (Semob-DF) 10 business days to provide clarifications. The commission is seeking information regarding the impact on scheduled trips, the current status of the vehicles, and the company’s overall economic-financial stability to ensure service quality and regularity.
