Distrito Federal expands vaccination access to 49 locations

Vaccination services in the Distrito Federal will be available at 49 locations this Saturday to serve children, adolescents, adults, the elderly, and priority groups. During the week, the network maintains 140 vaccination points across all regions. The available vaccines cover various diseases, including measles, meningitis, polio, yellow fever, influenza, COVID-19, hepatitis, HPV, chickenpox, and tetanus.

Special attention is being given to measles vaccination following cases in São Paulo. For infants aged 6 to 11 months, a ‘dose zero’ is being administered to reinforce protection. For adults, recommendations vary by age: those up to 29 should have received two doses, while those between 30 and 59 require one dose.

In Brazil, immunization can occur through the Unified Health System (SUS), which provides free vaccines included in the National Immunization Program (PNI), or through private clinics. While the public network follows Ministry of Health guidelines, private clinics may offer vaccines not universally available in the SUS. When seeking vaccination, individuals are advised to bring their vaccination records or present an official photo ID.
