Distrito Federal healthcare updates: Inas regulation changes and new political movement

The Institute of Health Assistance for Civil Servants of the Federal District (Inas) has approved regulatory changes for the GDF Saúde plan. According to the official gazette, the updates include the expansion of telemedicine services to include new specialties, with a 24-hour waiting period and a 120-day exemption from co-payment for remote consultations if financially advantageous. The changes also authorize the creation of a national complementary network for urgent and emergency care and the establishment of the 'Rede GDF Saúde Valoriza' to strengthen the accredited provider network through voluntary participation and minimum 10% discounts.

In a separate development regarding healthcare representation in the Federal District, nurse Marcos Wesley and nursing technician Alessandro Cardoso have emerged as a political duo. Referred to by supporters as the ‘irmãos gêmeos da Saúde’ (twin brothers of Health), the pair is seeking to represent both public and private healthcare professionals in the 2026 elections to address issues of professional valuation and working conditions.
