Distrito Federal provides guidelines for reporting abandoned vehicles

The Government of the Federal District (GDF) has provided guidelines for citizens to request inspections and removal of abandoned vehicles and carcasses within the region. When a report is made, technical teams visit the site to assess the vehicle's condition and evaluate potential risks to public health, safety, or the environment.

Requests can be submitted through several channels: the 162 ombudsman telephone line (free for landlines and mobile phones), via email, through regional administrations, or via local Community Security Councils. The ombudsman system also allows users to attach photos and pinpoint locations on a map.

To facilitate the process, citizens are encouraged to provide a complete address, a reference point, the license plate if legible, and location links from services like Google Maps or Waze. Once a request is registered, a protocol number is issued for tracking. If an inspection confirms abandonment or irregularities, traffic authorities will take the necessary administrative measures for removal.
