Distrito Federal provides reporting channels for elderly rights violations

The Distrito Federal provides several channels for reporting violence, abandonment, or rights violations against elderly citizens. Family members, guardians, or any person aware of such situations can request assistance through various official services.

The primary channel for reporting human rights violations is ‘Disque 100 – Disque Direitos Humanos’, a free service available 24 hours a day. This includes reports of physical, psychological, and patrimonial violence, as well as discrimination and abandonment.

In the Distrito Federal, citizens can also contact the Special Police Station for the Repression of Crimes of Racial, Religious, Sexual Orientation, Elderly, or Disability Discrimination (Decrin). Reports can be made in person, via telephone at 197, or through the Electronic Police Station. Additionally, ‘Disque 162’ is available for complaints and suggestions regarding public services. The ‘Viver 60+’ program remains a permanent policy focused on promoting healthy aging, social inclusion, and well-being.
