Distrito Federal reinforces brucellosis vaccination deadline
The Secretariat of Agriculture, Supply, and Rural Development of the Distrito Federal (Seagri-DF) has issued an alert to rural producers regarding the deadline for the second stage of the 2026 brucellosis vaccination campaign.
Beef and buffalo producers must vaccinate females aged between 3 and 8 months by December 31, 2026. In addition to the vaccination, producers are required to submit a vaccination certificate and the vaccine purchase invoice to the Seagri-DF Agricultural Defense department by the same deadline to prove immunization.
While the B19 vaccine is standard, the RB51 vaccine may be used as an alternative and is also indicated for females older than eight months. Brucellosis is an infectious disease affecting cattle and buffalo that causes economic losses in livestock activities and poses public health risks, as it can be transmitted to humans.
