Distrito Federal to host seminar on healthy school nutrition

The Secretariat of Education of the Federal District (SEEDF) will hold the VIII Seminar on the Promotion of Healthy Eating in Schools on Tuesday. The event, titled ‘Paths to creating school environments that promote health aligned with new global trends’, will take place at the Fepecs auditorium in Asa Norte.

The free seminar is designed for managers, teachers, pedagogical coordinators, nutritionists, school food professionals, and private school canteen operators. The program focuses on training, dialogue, and the exchange of experiences regarding strategies to transform schools into environments that foster healthy eating habits and quality of life.

Lilian Borges, subsecretary of the Subsecretariat of Support for Educational Policies (Suape), emphasized that schools play a vital role in forming lifelong healthy habits. She noted that promoting healthy eating involves more than just providing meals; it requires educational activities, planned actions, and the involvement of the entire school community.
