Divača–Koper railway second track project enters final phase

The construction of the second railway track between Divača and Koper is entering its final phase. The project, managed by 2TDK, is expected to complete its main construction works by the end of this year. Following the completion of construction, the project will move into testing and final procedures to obtain an operating permit, which is anticipated by the end of the first quarter of next year.

Despite facing significant challenges over the past six years—including karst phenomena, landslides in the Glinščica valley, the pandemic, the energy crisis, and rising costs for materials and labor—the project remains within the original financial framework established at its inception in 2019. 2TDK CEO Matej Oset noted that the project has involved extensive engineering feats, including kilometers of tunnels and viaducts.
