Divanhane Building to become Erdoğan museum following new tender

The National Palaces Administration has awarded a contract to Fibula Mimarlık Tasarım Limited Şirketi for the second stage of the Divanhane Building exhibition and arrangement project. The tender, valued at 124,989,000 TL, was signed on August 17.

The historical Divanhane building in Kasımpaşa, Istanbul, is being converted into a museum named after President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Formerly used as the headquarters for the Northern Sea Area Command, the site was transferred from the Ministry of National Defense to the Presidency in January 2022. The area's status was officially changed from a military zone to an official institution (museum) area through zoning plan amendments.

According to the National Palaces Administration’s 2025 activity report, 647 gifts presented to the President have already been moved to the museum site. These items have been inventoried, photographed, and measured in preparation for display. President Erdoğan previously stated his intention to open the museum to the public by the end of the year to showcase these gifts.
