Dive Group reports on resort job trends and Kumamoto recovery support
Dive Group has released its ‘Relationship Population Fixed-Point Report 2026 Summer,’ analyzing employment data from its resort job services. The report reveals that 87.2% of workers employed during the July–September 2026 period worked in prefectures other than their registered place of residence. Notably, 93.2% of urban residents (Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka metropolitan areas) worked outside their home regions, with 72.9% of these urban workers specifically seeking employment in rural areas.
The data also highlights a trend toward sustained regional engagement, as 68.7% of all employment instances were either extensions of existing contracts or repeat visits. This trend is more pronounced among older demographics; for workers aged 30 and above, the rate of extensions or repeats reached between 70% and 84%.
In a separate initiative, Dive Group launched a special feature page on its ‘Resort Baito Dive’ website to support the reconstruction of Kumamoto Prefecture. The page features Kumamoto’s mascot, Kumamon, to guide users through local landmarks and cuisine while promoting resort job opportunities in the region. The company aims to address labor shortages in tourism and stimulate local economies by encouraging people to live and work in these areas rather than just visiting.
