Diver dies during recreational dive in Almería

A 56-year-old diver has died following a recreational dive in Cala Mochuela, located between Cuevas del Almanzora and Pulpí in Almería.

The emergency call was received around 11:00 AM on Saturday. Witnesses reported that the diver, who was operating from a boat alongside instructors at a depth of approximately 35 meters, required immediate assistance. The victim's companions managed to transport him to the coast via a zodiac inflatable boat.

Emergency services, including the Guardia Civil, Salvamento Marítimo, and local health services, were mobilized to the scene. Despite these efforts, medical professionals were unable to resuscitate the man, and his death was confirmed at the site. While initial reports suggested a possible sudden medical issue, such as an epileptic seizure, the incident is currently being treated as an accident.
