Divya Mittal resigns from IAS after 13 years of service

Divya Mittal, a 2013-batch IAS officer in Uttar Pradesh, has resigned from the All India Service after 13 years of public service. At the time of her departure, she was serving as Special Secretary in the Revenue Department.

Mittal, an alumna of IIT Delhi and IIM Bangalore, previously worked as a derivative trader in London before returning to India to join the civil services. She cited a desire to repay a debt to her country as a primary motivation for her career change.

During her tenure, Mittal gained recognition for her work as District Magistrate in Mirzapur, where she oversaw the installation of piped water in the remote village of Lahuria Dah. In her resignation announcement, she reflected on her career, stating that true power stems from the trust of the people rather than official positions.
