Global Diwali celebrations scheduled across London, New York, and Guyana

Communities across the globe are preparing for various Diwali celebrations, the Hindu Festival of Lights, which symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness.

In London, the ‘Diwali on the Square’ event will take place at Trafalgar Square on Sunday, October 25. Organized by the Diwali in London committee and the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, the festival will feature 200 dancers, music, dance, and workshops representing Hindu, Sikh, and Jain communities.

In the United States, multiple cities have planned festivities. New York City will host events including a festival at the World’s Fair Unisphere in Queens, a wedding-themed celebration at Flushing Town Hall, and various workshops and pujas across Manhattan. In Atlanta, the festival includes community fairs and cultural activities in Marietta and Decatur. Aurora, Illinois, will also host a celebration at the Eola Community Center featuring traditional dance performances.

In Guyana, the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha has announced a wide-ranging calendar of events for November 2026, including a grand dinner and concert, a bazaar at the Kitty Seawall Roundabout, and a motorcade featuring floats from several regions.
