Diyarbakır authorities identify remains of missing woman Dilek Kalkan
Authorities in Diyarbakır have identified human remains found in 2014 as belonging to Dilek Kalkan, who went missing in May 2013. The discovery was made in the Pamukçay area of the Bismil district when water levels receded in a stream bed.
Following a re-examination coordinated by the newly established Department of Unsolved Crimes Research under the Ministry of Justice, DNA testing confirmed the identity of the deceased. The investigation, led by the Bismil Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, has resulted in the detention of six individuals, while efforts continue to locate one remaining suspect.
