Diyarbakır health program reaches 14,000 students

The ‘Healthy Child, Healthy Future’ program in Diyarbakır has reached 14,000 students as part of a joint initiative by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of National Education. Coordinated by the Diyarbakır Governor's Office, the project aims to instill preventive health awareness in children at an early age.

Recent activities held at Ali Kuşçu Primary School included educational stands covering first aid, National Medical Rescue Team (UMKE) operations, oral and dental health, balanced nutrition, and physical activity. Following the training, participating students were awarded ‘Health Ambassador’ badges and received toothbrushes and toothpaste to encourage daily practice of healthy habits.

The program aims to expand its reach to 20,000 students in the province by the end of the year, with long-term targets extending through October 2026.
