Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality expands free Wi-Fi service
Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality has expanded its free Wi-Fi service to seven locations across the city as part of its ‘Smart Cities Action Plan’. The initiative, managed by the Department of Information Technology, aims to facilitate internet access for both local residents and tourists while reducing barriers to digital services.
The service was initially launched in three high-traffic areas and has since grown to include Kent Ormanı, Tema Park, Ulu Cami, and Sümerpark. The current network covers seven key points: Kent Ormanı, Dağkapı Square, Ulu Cami, Tema Park, Sümerpark, the Intercity Terminal (DİŞTİ), and the Inner Castle (Hz. Süleyman Complex).
Users can connect via computers or smartphones by selecting the municipality's network in their Wi-Fi settings and completing an identity authentication process through a redirection screen.
